Columbia University has caved in to demands from the Trump administration in an effort to restore $400 million in federal funding that was yanked over how the school addresses antisemitism on campus.
The Ivy League school agreed to ban masks for the purpose of concealing identity, empower 36 campus police officers with new powers to arrest students and appoint a senior vice provost with broad authority to oversee the department of Middle East, South Asian and African Studies, as well as the Center for Palestine Studies.
Sources familiar with the negotiations told Fox News that meeting the demands doesn't mean that Columbia will get their $400 million in funding back, but that it's just a precondition to opening talks.

WASHINGTON (TNND) — Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday accused the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) of “rank insubordination” through its use of taxpayer dollars.
Rubio, who was also named the agency’s acting administrator, argued on Fox News USAID has evolved into a “global charity.” This allows it to spend tax dollars “irrespective of whether it is in the national interest or not in the national interest,” he said.

BREAKING: DOGE to cut $900 Million from the Department of Education
A federal research agency that tracks the progress of America’s students is being hit with almost $900 million in cuts after Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency found no need for much of its work.
The U.S. Department of Education verified Tuesday that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has canceled 89 Institute for Education Sciences multi-year contracts totaling about $900 million and 29 contracts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion training in education totaling $101 million.
In an email response to The Epoch Times, the Department of Education noted that the contract for the National Assessment of Educational Progress, which publicizes the Nation’s Report Card for public school math and reading scores every two years, was not among those cut. Nor were the College Scorecard or College Navigator contracts.
The Department of Education did not identify any of the 89 contracts that were cut or release any further statements regarding the cuts.
