SAN ANTONIO - As part of sweeping cuts across the federal government as Trump’s second term begins, a local organization has seen a major contract end.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) said the Department of Health and Human Services had terminated a contract paying Family Endeavors $18 million a month to operate an empty facility in West Texas.

The organization is also known as Endeavors, and you may have seen its administrative headquarters and wellness center on De Zavala Road, where it has a cluster of buildings and storefronts.

The Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency is about to provide a staff member access to IRS data, causing the media and the Democrats to spin into a frenzy.

Gavin Kliger, a software engineer who works at DOGE, will be based at the IRS for 120 days, and he will reportedly have access to the tax agency’s data, according to a Monday report from CNN.

Kliger will work as a senior adviser for the IRS acting commissioner.

“Waste, fraud, and abuse have been deeply entrenched in our broken system for far too long. It takes direct access to the system to identify and fix it,” White House deputy press secretary Harrison Fields told CNN about the move.

“DOGE will continue to shine a light on the fraud they uncover as the American people deserve to know what their government has been spending their hard earned tax dollars on,” he added.

WASHINGTON (TNND) — A member of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is poised to gain access to one of the Internal Revenue Service's most secure systems. The Integrated Data Retrieval System which contains detailed information on millions of American taxpayers including personal identification and banking information could soon be accessed by a DOGE engineer. Access is granted to very few people, and unauthorized access to the system is considered a felony.

The Trump administration cited DOGE’s mission to eliminate “waste, fraud and abuse” and defended the group's stated mission. However, Democrats have expressed strong opposition. Rep. Jimmy Gomez, D-California, posted on X about DOGE's IRS access, describing it as a “five alarm warning.”

First reported by Washington Free Beacon today then by Environmental Protection Agency Director Lee Zeldin in a television interview, alleging $2 billion of the $20 billion in a money laundering “green” scheme has ties to former Georgia Gubernatorial Candidate and staunch Kamala Harris Presidential Campaign surrogate Stacey Abrams.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, DOGE discovered a $2 billion taxpayer grant for Power Forward Communities, a nonprofit, whose founding member, Ari Matusiak, hired Abrams in March 2023 as Senior Counsel to his other nonprofit Rewiring America.

Power Forward Communities has ties to Washington state municipalities and other businesses—later disclosed in this post.
Ari Matusiak is founder and co-chair of Power Forward Communities, a national coalition awarded $2 billion from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund to decarbonize and reinvest in American households. From 2011 through 2014, he was special assistant to the president and director of private sector engagement in the Obama White House, according to his Bio and to his LinkedIn profile.

Abrams founded two companies during her gubernatorial run—Southern Economic Advancement Project and Fair Count—which are listed as partners on Power Forward Communities website.

According to IRS documents obtained by the Lynnwood Times, Power Forward Communities was awarded its nonprofit status in August 2023. The coalition that formed the nonprofit was led by Enterprise Community Partners, Rewiring America, Habitat for Humanity International, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and United Way Worldwide and reported only $100 dollars in revenue on its IRS filing for that year.
“It’s extremely concerning that an organization that reported just $100 in revenue in 2023 was chosen to receive $2 billion [a year later],” EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin told the Washington Free Beacon. “That’s 20 million times the organization’s reported revenue.”
"I made a commitment to members of Congress and to the American people to be a good steward of tax dollars and I’ve wasted no time in keeping my word," Zeldin said.

Enterprise Community Partners (one of the founding companies of Power Forward Communities) awarded Bothell United Methodist Church a cash grant of $30,687 towards its affordable housing goals in 2022.
On July 16, 2024, the City of Bothell entered a Letter of Intent with the Bothell United Methodist Church (BUMC) to gift the church, at no cost, a city-owned plot of land worth $6 million to be used for affordable housing and a community space. But conflict-of-interest concerns have since been raised involving one of BUMC’s lead pastors seeing as she made sizable financial contributions to the Mayor and City Council members who voted in favor of that decision.
Shoreline Area News reports that on January 21, the Bothell city council voted 5-2 to donate the $6 million vacant lot to Bothell United Methodist Church.

On February 12, 2025, Zeldin revealed in a video statement that the EPA secretly parked $20 billion in an outside financial institution—the first scheme of its kind in the agency’s history—designed by Biden administration officials to rush spending with reduced oversight.

The entire $20 billion was handed to just eight entities, which then distributed the funds to NGOs and other groups with little to no transparency. The eight entities are:

‱ Coalition for Green Capital ($5 billion award)
‱ Power Forward Communities ($2 billion award)
‱ Opportunity Finance Network ($2.29 billion award)

Zeldin directed the financial institution to immediately terminate the Financial Agent Agreement and return all of the $20 billion and referred the matter to Inspector General's Office and DOJ.

In just 48 hours, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) slashed a whopping $370 million in taxpayer dollars being spent on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at the Department of Education.

DOGE, the newly formed department led by Elon Musk to purge spending by the federal government, revealed in a post on X that they terminated 70 DEI training grants within the department.

According to DOGE, the grants totaled $373 million.

$4.7 trillion dollars in payments were left blank, making it nearly impossible to trace, DOGE said.

Elon Musk indicated in a post on X that millions of people listed in a Social Security database are recorded as centenarians "with the death field set to FALSE!"

"According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE! Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security," Musk posted, adding a couple of rolling on the floor laughing emojis.

His post features a chart indicating there are more than 20 million listed with ages 100 and higher, including more than 3.9 million in the 130-139 age range, more than 3.5 million in the 140-149 range and more than 1.3 million in the 150-159 range.

#BreakingNews Michelle King, Acting Head of the Social Security Administration, has RESIGNED. This comes after DOGE revealed over the weekend nearly 20 million people in the Social Security database are over the age of 100 years old, including two who were reportedly over 300 years old.
According to Associated Press, King resigned because she refused to provide DOGE staffers access to SSA information. The White House has replaced her as acting commissioner with Leland Dudek, who currently works at the SSA.
CNN reports that White House spokesperson Harrison Fields released a statement Monday night saying: “President Trump has nominated the highly qualified and talented Frank Bisignano to lead the Social Security Administration, and we expect him to be swiftly confirmed in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the agency will be led by a career Social Security anti-fraud expert as the acting commissioner.”
ABC News reports that an email message sent to all SSA staff from newly appointed Acting Commissioner Dudek tonight that read he was "humbled and honored to lead this agency" until Trump's pick to lead Social Security, Frank Bisignano, is confirmed by the Senate.
The SSA has a repository of every Social Security Number that has ever been issued as well as work and pay history, banking information, and medical records for millions of Americans, according to New York Post.
